What are konjac vermicelli noodles?

 






 



Konjac vermicelli noodles are made from the konjac yam, also known as the konnyaku or shirataki plant. This kind of magic plant is native to China,Japan,Indonesia and part of other Southeast Asia countries. The root or yam of konjac contains a fiber is water-soluble called glucomannan, which is the main ingredient used to make Konjac vermicelli noodles.



 



They are made by mixing Konjac flour with water and then shaping the mixture into thin, translucent strands and cut into different dimensions based on customers' needs. These shirataki noodles have a slightly chewy texture and are often used in Asian cuisine, especially in dishes such as hot pot, stir-fries, salad and soups.
